You have reached the Kansas City Freecycle website! It is not to be confused with the Kansas City Freecycle Yahoo Group! While the same collective of folks maintains each, the two sites serve different purposes.

Here, you can find documents (rules, Netiquette, etc.) applicable to the KCF Yahoo Group. We also maintain a blog (the most recent posts of which appear right below this here welcome message), as well as a blogroll with links to local buy/sell/trade groups, environmental organizations, and the like. You cannot post OFFERs and WANTEDs here, nor do we respond to questions left as comments on individual blog posts. (You can, however, find the moderators’ contact information here.)

The KCF Yahoo Group is where you should go if you want to exchange items with other Kansas City residents. Instructions for joining the list are available here, as is a copy of the application you’ll need to fill out and return to us before we approve your pending membership. If you do not send us a completed application, your membership will not be approved. Don’t worry, though; it’s only four questions long, and should be a breeze if you’ve read the rules and Netiquette as requested.

For a complete list of all the Freecycle groups – both in Kansas and Missouri, as well as around the globe – please go to freecycle.org. Please note that we are not actively involved with freecycle.org, and you will need to create an account with Yahoo and/or subscribe to our local Yahoo Group in order to participate in KC Freecycle – even if you have already created an account with freecycle.org.
