There are precious few things I enjoy more than watching two nonhuman animal friends take pleasure in one another’s company. Whether they’re longtime companions or new acquaintances; biological relatives or members of different species; rambunctious playmates or calm, content comrades, witnessing nonhuman animals relate to each other on their own terms provides a much-needed reminder: humans aren’t the only animals who live in rich, emotional inner worlds – worlds filled with joy, love, attachment, fidelity and kinship.

On that note, allow me to introduce you to this week’s featured adoptable! Once again, our adoptable animal is not one being, but two: Allie and Bilbo are bonded pair of West Highland White Terriers. Longtime friends, the two must be adopted together. As if this doesn’t complicate matters enough, the sister/brother siblings are also senior dogs, looking for a home in which to enjoy the rest of their days: together, forever.

FOSTERED IN ARKANSAS near MISSOURI border.

ATTENTION ANYONE WANTING FUN AND LAUGHTER!!

Look at these two loving, sweet faces seeking a lap or two to share. Got one?

Allie & Bilbo are soul mates and CAN NOT BE SEPARATED under ANY circumstance – they live for each other and would die without the other.

As you can see, these two are all about life and love!! they need a home where they can enjoy your company and entertain you with their antics.

If you are the home for Allie & Bilbo – please apply today at: www.westierescueofmissouri.com

Apply ONLY if you seek to adopt BOTH, thus keeping BOTH together – FURever.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND FULLY – they can NOT be separated. The pictures attests to that. Bilbo is 12 years old and Allie is 11 years old. These two are in PAWfect health and are active Westies (OBVIOUSLY by these photos! LOL). They enjoy playing, taking walks or just snuggling next to YOU. They need a home where they have a SECURE fenced yard as they are escape artists and a stable environment to grow old together. :) Apply today!

Adoption donation for Bilbo and Allie is $300-$450 and is 100% tax deductable. Apply online at: www.westierescueofmissouri.com

ARE YOU A SENIOR YOURSELF? Then YOU know you are not OLD… simply wiser than most. We offer a special discounted adoption donation for Seniors Adopting Seniors.

If you can provide a loving, caring retirement home for these deserving pups, please contact Westie Rescue of Missouri, Inc. (HQ: Kansas City, MO) today.

(Though the dogs are currently located in Arkansas, don’t let the distance deter you! Many national/trans-state rescue groups are more than willing to adopt across state lines and work with you on transport. My husband and I adopted our first dog-kid from a national dachshund rescue group; several volunteers worked to get Ralphie from Tennessee to Pennsylvania, and we made the drive from NY to pick him up.)

Each Wednesday, the Kansas City Freecycle blog will feature one adoptable animal from a local KC rescue group or animal shelter.

We do this for several reasons:

- To highlight the plight of abused, neglected and/or homeless non-human animals in the Kansas City (and surrounding) area.

- To remind members of our no-animal policy, and provide an alternative venue for members who wish to adopt an unwanted animal companion.

- To encourage members to adopt a furry, feathered or scaled friend.

- To help out out local animal rescue groups and animal shelters, many of which are overwhelmed by the sheer number of animals in need.

- To illustrate these animals’ unique personalities and characteristics, thus underscoring the fact that they are not objects and should not be “freecycled”.
