Update, 7/29/09: Sabrina’s been adopted, too, oh yay!

Update, 1/21/09: Marvin has been adopted, but Sabrina is still looking for a new home.

Today’s adoptables are Sabrina and Marvin, a mother-son pair of young cats from Spay & Neuter Kansas City:

Sabrina is a young mom who became pregnant her first heat cycle. She is around 9 months old. She was found outside and all her other kittens did not survive living outside. The kitten that stayed by her side is named Marvin. He is available for adoption also. They’ve been rescued together and are the perfect family. Sabrina is a petite kitty and is already spayed and up to date on shots. She has a ton of love to give and would make a great lap cat.

Marvin was rescued with his mom, Sabrina. We would like to place them together because they are the perfect family. Marvin is about 8 weeks old and his momma is less than a year old. They are both very loving kitties and need a forever home to call their own. Marvin is very playful and affectionate.

Each Wednesday, the Kansas City Freecycle blog will feature one adoptable animal from a local KC rescue group or animal shelter.

We do this for several reasons:

- To highlight the plight of companion animals in the Kansas City area.

- To remind members of our no-animal policy, and provide an alternative venue for members who wish to adopt an unwanted animal.

- To encourage members to adopt a furry friend.

- To help out out local animal rescue groups and animal shelters, many of which are overwhelmed by the sheer number of animals in need.

- To illustrate these animals’ unique personalities and characteristics, thus underscoring the fact that they are not objects and should not be “freecycled”.
